GERMAN WITHHOLDING TAX ON USAGE RIGHTS
Usage rights paid by Tempomedia are subject to the German income tax law §50a, ruling that Tempomedia is obligated to deduct 15,825% „withholding tax“ from all payments for usage rights (NOT for agency fees, NOT for day fees and travel fees) and pay these 15,825% on behalf of the actor/actress to the German Federal Central Tax Office. The actor/actress receives a tax certificate from tempomedia, confirming they paid these taxes in Germany. They can then set off these German tax on their income tax returns in order to not pay tax twice (in Germany and in their country of taxation)
